Mareeba Car Rentals recognises all current non-provisional and non-probationary Australian driver's licences and current overseas licences. Accepted Driver's licences must be in English with a photo, not expired and produced at the commencement of the rental. Should the valid driver's licence be in another language or have no photo we will accept a certified translation in English or an International driver's permit. Should the licence not have a photo, an International Driving Permit must accompany it.

All drivers must be at least 21 years of age but not over 80 years of age and have no less than 12 months driving experience.

Only you or an Authorised Driver can drive the vehicle. Allowing anyone who is not an Authorised Driver to drive constitutes a major breach of the Rental Contract that excludes you and any Authorised Driver from all entitlement to Damage Cover indemnity.

All vehicles rented come with a standard cover that limits the loss or damage liability payable by you in the event of loss or damage to the car to between $3,000 - $4,000, depending on the vehicle class. No, our vehicles are not permitted to travel on unsealed roads. Any damage to overhead, under-carriage, or damage caused by water is not covered by any damage liabilities and are the responsibility of the renter.

At the start of your rental you will be required to pay for the total hire charges plus an additional security bond of $1000. The security bond will be held on your credit/debit card until the completion of your rental agreement. Charges will be processed after completion of the rental and if applicable the unused portions of the security bond will be released. Mareeba Car Rentals will send an electronic message to your bank on the day you return the vehicle requesting the release of the funds. Depending on your bank, this may take between 7 - 10 business days. Please check with your bank for more information.

Yes, our vehicle hire includes 200km travel per day free of charge. Any excess kilometres are charged at 30 cents per kilometre. Any excess truck hire kilometres are charged at 50 cents per kilometre.

If you are involved in an accident, you should do the following: • Call Mareeba Car Rentals on 0456 595 338,(tel:0456595338) and immediately contact the police in case of third party liability and the emergency services in the event anyone is injured. • Do not leave the vehicle without making sure it is safe. • Write down names, address, licence details and contact details of all people involved and any witnesses. Never admit liability. Complete an incident report form within 24hrs of the accident.
